AWESOME display of nature in your backyard!!! Been an avid backyard birder, for over 15+yrs now. Loved your video, showing all the blue jays, squirrels, and deer. But especially the privilage of having, a Pileated Woodpecker eating your suet, next to the jay and what seems to be a Hairy Woodpecker feeding on the other suet cage. Great job, keep the videos coming…..
Thanks for the info. If you ever getting around to sharing the specs, I’d love to hear them. It’s hard for me to see just how you have this put together in this video. I’ve tried various methods but nothing I would claim at squirrel proof. The closest I got was a 4″ pvc post coated with vaseline. We mounted a screen bottom tray to the top that we could remove and clean out.
Now that’s impressive! Can you make one for me? Seriously, very nice station…looks like you draw a large amount of birds also. Kudos for helping them survive the winter!!
Get an Ikea tapered plastic wastebasket and drill a hole in the bottom to equal the pipe diameter holding your feeder platform . Slide it upside down under your feeder and form a stop for the basket (bolt through pipe, or many layers of duct tape). Racoons or squirrels are flummoxed by this as the can’t reach around and crawl inside the basket.
Hummingbirds are fun, entertaining, full of energy and it’s easy to attract hummingbirds.
It's not hard to attract Hummingbirds, but if you really want to enjoy Hummingbirds, you need to choose your source carefully and you need to know how to keep them healthy, happy and coming back to your garden.
In 'Hummingbirds at Home' everything is included that you need to know about taking care of and attracting Hummingbirds. One handy guide, which both current and future Hummingbird fans will love, is all you need!

Did you custom make that bird feeder stand?
Yes we did. It took a lot of trial and error to get it right. About 4 years worth!!
Have a great day.
I don’t see a mechanism that prevents the squirrels form climbing up. What makes it squirrel proof?
Partially due to the diameter of the pole, but also the squirrels and raccoons don’t like to climb past the sheetmetal mounted at the top of the pole.
