How to Feed Your Pet Bird

So this is the easiest way to feed your birds BUT, it gets better! I now feed my birds Harrison’s pellets. These are 100% organic, with no artificial flavors or colors and are made of pure healthy ingredients. These are the best!! You can order them online or some specialty pet food stores sell them but not usually. I do not feed my birds ZuPreem anymore. It’s an ok food but it’s certainly not as good as an organic one! If you can afford it, go for Harrison’s!!!

where do you get harrisons and nutriberries
Good stuff. Any tips on getting my tiels to eat their veggies. My quaker is ok its just my tiels. I do use a food prossecor so its alk mixed and mashed they just dont touch it!

i give my parakeet seed,but that’s ok
she likes it,and it cant like kill her or make her sick! 
i like it but i have always fed my birds seeds thats what they eat in the wild whats so bad about it
@coolmathew4 Thts why it’s bad cause they don’t only eat seeds in the wild. They eat a variety of plants and insects to supplement their diet
@REALlpsqueen — actually it can kill her, slowly — birds on all seed diets get fat and develop fatty liver disease and they usually end up dying prematurely. Budgies do good on some seeds, but they should also be getting pellets, along with dark green veggies and fresh fruits.
@Birdsafe that’s not true! i will always feed her seed! she will die of old age.she is very young now.
@REALlpsqueen – you really should talk to an avian vet about the diet. And all-seed diet can be very harmful to any bird. Some seed is good (actually a lot of it is grain), but your bird also needs some pellets, as well as the fruits and veggies. What you might think to be “old age” could very well be too short. Many parakeets on good diets and checkups can live to be 15 years or more.

Thanks for doing this vid. I think I’ll go for harrisons organic fine pellets, they are cheaper and they look like a good quality healthy pellet. The advice on nutri berries was helpful, I have them and will use them for changing seed to pellet and give them as a treat when he is on a pelleted diet.

i have an important question for my birds. i am getting 2 paraketets and theyre fed seed. should i transfer them from seed to pellet like you did or just give them pellet because theyre still young. please answer!

i asked my avian vet and he said you can feed your bird a full milet stick and any seeds and he said his bird lived seven to ten years with just seed but i started giving them lafeber’s pellets

Hi 3sugarbeans. I am in the process of switching my birds diet from seeds to pellets and I am having a bit of trouble with my birds picking out the seeds and leaving the pellets. They have been doing this for a month now and I am not sure if they will ever eat the pellets. Do you have any reccomendations as to what I should do?

Wow im learning alot!
I just found your channel by randomly searching Youtube. A month ago, my budgie Nemo died. Watching your vids helped me better understand how she died.. She was fed seed for the first year of her life and I didn’t know that seed was bad for them. So Im guessing that had something to do with her death. R.I.P Nemo.
